I have joined a cult

Yes, I have voluntarily joined a cult: the Cult of Mac. In other news, the government has lowered taxes, snow is falling in hell, and theory researchers are getting grant money. I am also thinking of trying out for a sports team. Maybe lacrosse. Or bowling.

In all honesty, though, it’s not really a huge deal. My old Presario X1030 laptop has been dead for a few months now, and I’ve only recently come to terms with the loss (the mourning period was good…I feel like I have achieved closure about the relationship). It’s time to move on, and the cynical side of me is very tired of dealing with the chronic broken states of Windows and Linux. It’s time to try something different, and with the recent MacBook upgrades, it seemed like a fun choice. A Unix-based laptop with a low form factor and a sexy GUI? Yeah, it’s worth a try. Will I advance past the “initiate” level in the Cult of Mac? Only time will tell.
